Improving your LinkedIn Profile Strength to Get More Business
You know how important it is to have an online presence; this is true whether your business is based in Internet Marketing or more traditional means. You know you need a website. You probably already know that blogging can also be helpful. It’s also important for you to have your profile up on social media networks like Facebook and Twitter. Did you already know, however, that you can also help your success by creating your own LinkedIn profile? You can do more than just put up a resume on LinkedIn. It is one of the best and foremost sites for building a business and professional network. Here are some things that you can do to get it to work for you so that you can raise your profit margin.
What is your LinkedIn Profile Strength?
You don’t need to pay anything to use LinkedIn. Profiles are free for everyone to put up. If you want to, however, you can pay a small fee to upgrade your account to premium status. With the premium account, you will be able to have access to features like metrics as well as InMails. Still, you aren’t required to upgrade to the premium status before you start working on building your business. The fact is that, if you are just beginning, it is possible to save money and then make just as good an impression by creating a free profile. Get as much out of your free profile as possible before you upgrade. This will show you whether or not you truly need to fork over the cash for the upgrade. LinkedIn has many features, including a jobs section. It’s true, many companies will post vacancies for jobs on the LinkedIn portal. You can post or look up jobs on LinkedIn anytime you want. A person in one of your groups might also talk about a job they are offering. Finding a job may not be your goal, but it could still lead to an opportunity. If you have the right skills, you might be able to get freelance work through this company. Just send a message to the person who placed the job opening if they’d consider using a freelancer. This can be a creative way to obtain freelance assignments.
Just like in a cover letter and resume, it is okay to “toot your own horn” so to speak on LinkedIn. You have accomplished lots of things. Whatever you have accomplished, it is okay to be proud of these things. When you set up a LinkedIn account, this needs to be talked about. Whatever you have done, there are sections on your account or you can display this. No time for modesty – you need to make money! Modesty and genuinely social situations is expected. Convincing people that you can do the job, or that you are the right person for it, is why you need to brag about yourself and what your capabilities are. So don’t hold back. Share and show your excitement for what you’ve achieved.
There are many different ways to put LinkedIn to work for you to help you build your business. What you have to do is learn how to use the system correctly.
How do you go about that? A good place to start is with the techniques we have talked about in these paragraphs. When you continue to work and are open minded, you’ll be able to think of a lot of others!
